Calendar Art 2011

If you would like to order a calendar please let me know, these are classed as photo calendars, not art calendars. The children are in the process of drawing other calendar art, if you would like to see them please come into class. If you can't see your calendar here it is because it is not finished!

How Fast Will They Pass!

Nelson Central held a science fair on Thursday 7th July and room 6 displayed our project with the rest if the junior school. Our Aim was to find out which sail car design would travel the fastest over 2 metres. We used the fair test method to carry out our investigation. Blake and Liam had the fastest time with 3 and a half seconds! We kept the same sail, hair dryer, area which the cars travelled over and had 2 time keepers to make sure the time was accruate. We had lots of fun designing and making the cars.

hats at the Museum

Thanks to Nicki for a very interesting session on hats. The children took their own special hats and told us why they are special to them. We looked at lots of different hats and drew pictures of them.

Suter Visit Nga Kakahu

We made some puppets and created a puppet show at the Suter. We were looking at the designs of the pieces created by Jo Torr and developed a puppet show about fair and unfair trading. Here is one of the shows. We had great fun making them.

Class Reward

Room 6 chose to bake for reaching their target of 10 class rewards. We made yummy cupcakes and decorated them, we even made one for our buddy!
